    Many consumers today do not realize there's a difference in a REALTOR and a real estate agent. When someone agrees to join the National Association of REALTORS, he agrees to hold up a higher standard through a Code of Ethics that ultimately protects the consumers and fellow real estate professionals.     Every year, legislation hits the national scene that restricts property rights.  REALTORS have a full team of national advocates, volunteer and otherwise, who fly into action. As a matter of fact, it goes deeper than the national level, into the states and local areas.  For example, Nashville REALTORS educate others on the unintended consequences that some Metro Council bills have.  Many of these actions go unrecognized, because it's just part of our job.

    Brian Copeland was the 201 President of Tennessee REALTORS®. He is the founder of Doorbell Real Estate in Nashville, Tennessee. Brian was the 2011 Nashville REALTOR® of the Year and is one of the most sought after real estate speakers in America, emceeing and keynoting some of the largest conferences in the profession. In 2014, he was named one of Inman News’ 100 Most Influential Real Estate Leaders in America. In 2015, Swanepoel's T3 Reports recognized him as one of the top 10 to watch in social media. Brian, a Golden R President’s Circle Hall of Fame RPAC investor, has served as the NAR’s chair for the Data Strategies, Young Professionals Network, and RPAC Participation Council committees. He founded one of the largest technology camps in the country, attracting more than 1100 real estate professionals from more than 30 states.
